Founded under the umbrella of the Bend Firefighter’s Foundation, the Community Assistance Program (CAP) is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible program run entirely by members of the Bend Fire Department. The mission of the Community Assistance Program is to identify crisis within our community and provide timely solutions with purpose and compassion. Often while firefighters are responding to emergencies, additional needs are noticed in conjunction with the emergency the person called for. These may be in the form of financial hardship and the inability to pay a bill, fill a car with fuel, clothe a child, or provide groceries for their family. The Community Assistance Program seeks to bridge these gaps with funds that are raised through donations by the community. As firefighters, we believe we have a special and unique opportunity to intervene in someone’s life during their most difficult time to help lessen the burden of financial stress. We are so grateful for the ability to help our community out in this way.

The Community Assistance Program is unique in the fact that it has no overhead costs and every dollar raised is given back to the community. Secondly, while responding to emergencies, we are typically able to intervene and provide help immediately without having to have the person go through a long and burdensome process to receive the help.

Over the years, the Bend Fire Department has partnered with some incredible organizations to raise money in a fun and enjoyable way. From pint nights at the local breweries, to selling swag at Bend Brewfest, or holding competitions within the community, we encourage everyone that has the ability, to help fund this unique and incredible opportunity. Your money is directly affecting the community that you live in and you can be proud of it. If you have any questions, suggestions, ideas or would like to partner alongside us, please contact us through this website and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible!
